Governor to Showcase Oklahoma Aerospace at Airshow

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Mary Fallin will lead a delegation of seven Oklahoma aerospace companies to the Farnborough International Air Show in England next week.

Fallin will attend the air show on July 9 and July 10. Officials from the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, the Tulsa Metro Chamber and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce also will attend.

The Farnborough International Airshow is one of the largest aviation events in the world. The show is estimated to attract more than 130,000 visitors, and will be attended by about trade delegations from more than 40 different countries. An estimated $47 billion in business orders are expected to be announced during the event.

Aerospace and other related defense industries support more than 150,000 jobs in the state for a total payroll of $5 billion annually.
