More growth is announced for the Port of Catoosa, and it will mean a few new jobs with a major company.

Gas industry company Linde Process Plants will invest nearly $2.5 million in a 13,000 square feet expansion of its fabrication facility at the port. Port  Director Bob Portiss said when the project is complete next June, Linde will occupy about 170,000 square feet of the port’s industrial space.

"We're really proud to have Linde as a longstanding member of our industrial family, now consisting of over 70 industries and some 4,200 people," Portiss said.

Company president Steve Bertone said the company has had good fortune in Tulsa.

"We have probably more than tripled our employee numbers, but also we've gone from about a $100 million company to, right now, in the next few years we'll be a $1 billion company," Bertone said.

Linde employs more than 400 people in the Tulsa area. The expansion will give Linde more space to test fittings before they’re shipped to gas companies. The expansion is expected to require around 20 new employees.
