Flood Rescues

Sulphur, OK – 5 rescued from flooded homes in southern Oklahoma

SULPHUR, Okla. (AP) Heavy rains flooded homes and streets in Sulphur and the county's emergency management director says firefighters rescued five people from their flooded homes.

No injuries are reported.

Murray County Emergency Management Director Joe Jordan says an estimated nine inches of rain fell starting late Sunday night and ending early Monday morning.

Jordan says that while there are no injuries reported there is property damage to the flooded homes.

Oklahoma Gas and Electric reports on its website about 350 power outages in the area as of Monday morning.
