"The First Christmas: What the Gospels Really Teach about Jesus's Birth"
By Rich Fisher
Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of show, we listen back to a fascinating, holiday-themed interview with religious scholar and author Marcus J. Borg. Among many other publications, Borg is co-author of "The First Christmas: What the Gospels Really Teach about Jesus's Birth." We first spoke with Borg about this title some two years ago, when it was originally published in hardcover. The paperback edition of "The First Christmas" appeared in October of this year, and is now available from HarperOne. In this work, Borg and his co-author John Dominic Crossan --- both of them widely respected for their work in the dual field of historical/biblical scholarship --- compare and contrast the two distinct narratives in the Gospels related to the birth of Christ, namely, those found in Matthew and Luke.
