Several people have been injured in an overnight fire at the CVR Refinery in Coffeyville, Kansas. The fire was reported about 12:30 this morning.
Fire fighters brought the blaze under control in about an hour. Four people were air-lifted to nearby hospitals suffering from burns. Some neighbors say they heard an explosion before the fire.
The cause of the fire will be under investigation. The refinery, which has a rated capacity of 115,000 barrels per calendar day, predominantly produces clean transportation products such as gasoline, diesel fuels and propane.
