Tulsa, OK – There will be no lay-offs in the Tulsa Fire Department. While not thrilled with the idea, the Tulsa Fire Fighters Union membership voted to accept eight furlough days rather than have a personnel cut-back.
As City revenue continues to drop, Tulsa's new budget calls for workers to be off---without pay-- for eight days during the year. Had fire fighters not agreed to accept the furlough days, the rank and file would have been reduced by20-to-30 fire fighters.
