Oklahoma City, OK – The first black Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper has died.
Department of Public Safety officials announced the death of Lt. Ronnie Johnson at the age of 79. Johnson graduated in 1968 from the 23rd Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy, which was one of the smallest OHP cadet classes ever.
He retired in 1987.
