Vinita, OK – Former Okla senator steps down as GRDA director

VINITA, Okla. (AP) A former state senator who heads the Grand River Dam Authority is stepping down.

According to a release from the Vinita-based utility, Kevin Easley announced his resignation Wednesday during a regular meeting of the GRDA board.

Easley said he's stepping down to pursue a job offer in the private sector. He says he plans to remain with the utility until July 31.

A Democrat, Easley resigned his position in the state Senate to take over as the GRDA's chief executive officer in 2004.

The GRDA operates three hydroelectric facilities in northeast Oklahoma and delivers power to cities, industries and electric cooperatives in 24 counties.
