Okla. turnout mixed as early voting begins
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Cleveland County voters waited as long as 30 minutes to cast ballots as the three-day early voting began in Oklahoma.
More than three dozen voters waited in a line early Friday that stretched across two floors of the Cleveland County Election Board's new headquarters in Norman.
Election Board Secretary Paula Roberts says voters were waiting when the office opened at 8 a.m. and that traffic was steady throughout the day. Several hundred voters had cast ballots before noon.
Turnout was also steady in Adair County in far eastern Oklahoma, but slow in Harmon County, where just 11 voters showed up by 1 p.m.
Early voting continues from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
