Dollar Thrifty Rejects Hertz

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa based Dollar-Thrifty shareholders reject a one-point-46 billion dollar buy-out offer from Hertz. Rival bidder Avis sweetened his deal which was already three-dollars are share more than Hertz to include a 20-million dollar break-up fee if they fail to close on the deal.

Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Chairman Don Walker is somewhat relieved. The Chamber would prefer Dollar-Thrifty remain a stand-alone company. However, unlike Hertz, Avis does have a presence in Oklahoma.
