Creek County is the latest Oklahoma County to institute a burn ban. The proclamation from the Creek County Commissioners at Sapulpa will be in effect for 30-days.
The lack of rainfall and recent gusty winds are reasons cited in the proclamation for the ban. It was two years ago that a devastating wildfire swept through Creek County causing wide spread damage near Mannford and Drumright.
Burn Bans have been instituted in 13 of the state’s 77 counties.
