Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council hears a proposal from one of its own dealing with changing the Tulsa City Charter. Councilor Roscoe Turner is proposing creating the position of City Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the city and to serve as the City's CEO.

Currently, Tulsa has a strong mayor/weak council form of government. Turners change would make the mayor a figure head while strengthening the role of the city council in hiring a manager.

A group called "Save Our Tulsa" that is pushing its own charter change proposal that would place the mayor on the council, add three at large councilors and eliminate partisan elections.

Either change would require voter approval.
