Corps Expects Lake Weekend To Be Impacted by High Water

The Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today a list of temporary recreation closures due to high water from recent rain events in the district. This list will be updated as needed.

Here is a list of current temporary closures:

Eufaula Lake:

Oak Ridge - 25 percent of campsites are available.

Elm Point - Completely closed with gates shut.

Gentry Creek - Completely closed with gates shut.

Brooken Cove - Completely closed with gates shut.

Porum Landing - 50 percent of campsites open.

Ladybird Landing - 50 percent of campsites open.

Highway 9 East - Completely closed.

Highway 9 South - Completely closed with gates shut.

Highway 9 North - 50 percent of campsites open.

Belle Starr - 50 percent of campsites open.

*         Note: Flood conditions cause all boat ramps to be significantly less safe for launching.  Not all are blockaded (many are and are not available for use), and are available for emergency launching if necessary. All amenities are being impacted by flooding including playgrounds, pavilions, bathrooms & some electrical.

Pine Creek:

All parks - All parks and boat ramps on Pine Creek Lake are currently closed due to flooding.

Hugo:

All parks - All parks are closed on Hugo Lake due to flooding. 

Frazier Point - One boat ramp is open.

Sawyer Bluff - One boat ramp is open.

Texoma Lake:

East Burns Run - Completely closed.

East Burns Run Day Use Area  - Completely closed.

West Burns Run - Completely closed.

West Burns Run Day Use Area - Completely closed.

Lakeside - Completely closed.

Caney Creek - Completely closed.

Juniper East - Completely closed.

Juniper West - 100 percent open.

Platter Flats - 30 percent open with limited campsites, water, electric service and waterborne restrooms.  No boat ramp available.

Johnson Creek - 50 percent open with limited campsites, water, electric service and waterborne restrooms. No boat ramps available.

Buncombe Creek - 30 percent open with limited campsites, water, electric service.  No waterborne restrooms available.  No boat ramp available.

Preston Bend - 30 percent open with limited campsites, water available.

These are the Tulsa District lakes reporting significant closures and issues due to high water.
