College Savings Plan Giving Away Contributions in Sweepstakes

The Oklahoma College Savings Plan and the Tulsa Zoo want you to think big and save for college.

The organizations partnered for a sweepstakes that will give three winners contributions toward an account and a zoo keeper visit in their classrooms. State Treasurer Ken Miller says the sweepstakes is meant to make families aware of the college savings program.

"We have one of the best programs in the country, but if nobody knows about it, they really can't sign up for it," Miller said.

The grand prize winner will receive a $2,529 dollar contribution, while second- and third-place winners will get $1,529 and $529.

"Parents and grandparents, legal guardians can sign up through June 12 as long as they have a child under 16 years of age," Miller said. "They sign up at ok4saving.org or oklahoma529.com and just fill out the paperwork, and it's just a drawing."

There's also a drop box in the zoo's information office where entries can be submitted.
