Muskogee, OK – Okla prosecutor charges man in death of 4-year-old
MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) Muskogee County prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old man with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a 4-year-old boy.
Aaron Laconsello appeared Friday before a judge via a video camera.
Police say someone broke into the home of Dakota Lane and stabbed him 36 times with a pair of scissors Tuesday night. Dakota died Wednesday at a Tulsa hospital.
His pregnant mother, Stephanie Lane, also was injured and was treated by paramedics at the home.
District Attorney Larry Moore says Laconsello likely will appear with an attorney to request a preliminary hearing in the next two weeks.
A spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System didn't immediately return a call asking if the office had been assigned the case.
