Charges Filed Against Woman in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Tulsa

Murder and other charges have been filed against a Tulsa woman in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

Prosecutors have charged 26-year-old Brittany Payne, who is also known as Brittany Payne Wright, with first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of a fatality crash, driving with a suspended license and child neglect.

Payne remains jailed without bond. Court records do not list an attorney for her.

Police say Payne intentionally drove into and killed 25-year-old Brianna Dean on Sept. 2 while Dean was walking with her boyfriend — who is described as Payne's ex-boyfriend.

Police say the three had argued before Dean and the man walked away and Payne then drove into the woman.

Police say Payne then drove to her home where she was later arrested.
