Commissioned to build a harpsichord for the University of Central Oklahoma's new Center for Historical Performance, Brad Bennight delivered the dazzling new instrument to the College of Fine Arts and Design and offered a dedication concert on Saturday, October 5th in the Radke Fine Arts Theatre in the University’s Center for Transformative Learning. The program selected to show off the unique qualities and rich resonance of the eight foot double manual French instrument includes works by Louis Couperin, Antoine Forqueray, Jacques Du Phly, Domenico Scarlatti and Johann Sebastian Bach. We’ll hear the recital and we’ll meet Brad Bennight, an artist passionate about harpsichords and harpsichord building this week on Performance Oklahoma. Listen here to a sampling!
Tune in at 8:00pm Saturday, November 9th to Classical 88.7-1.
