Tulsa County Reserve Deputy Robert Bates pleads not guilty to second-degree manslaughter today. He is charged with the fatal shooting of suspect--- earlier this month--- when authorities say he mistook his pistol for his stun gun.
The entire hearing this morning lasted less than five minutes. Bates is free on bail.
During his court appearance, he requested permission to go on a month-long vacation to the Bahamas. The judge agreed, so long as he is back in time for his next court hearing.
