The FBI is warning state election boards to tighten security on election computer systems. There is a fear that systems could be targeted by internet hackers as the November General Election approaches.

In Oklahoma, voting machines at polling places are not networked and impossible for someone to hack. State Election Board Spokesman Bryan Dean says they can't even link into the machines.  Dean says Oklahoma also has a paper-trail. People must sign into prior to voting and paper ballots are stored for any possible hand recount should a machine fail.

Oklahoma is also one of the states that has yet to start on-line voter registration. The board has permission to conduct on-line registration but the system is not up and running.
