AMBER ALERT: Police Believe Sand Springs Murder Suspect, Son, in Texas

Oklahoma DPS

LEWISVILLE, Texas (AP) — Police believe an Oklahoma man suspected in the abduction of his 6-year-old son and the slaying of the boy's grandmother is in North Texas with the child.

Lewisville police early Wednesday surrounded a hotel in the search for 38-year-old Robert Conner III and his son, Declan.

Capt. Jay Powell says authorities believe the boy has not been harmed and is with his father at the hotel in Lewisville, 20 miles northwest of Dallas.

An Amber Alert issued in Osage County, Okla., says Conner is wanted for homicide in the shooting of the child's grandmother. Connor's great aunt, Marilyn Lorenz, says it was the child's paternal grandmother who was slain. Lorenz says the victim was her late brother's widow.

Lorenz says she hasn't heard from Conner.
