Ambassador Molly Williamson, Formerly of the U.S. State Department, on "The Geopolitics of Oil"
Our guest on this edition of ST is Molly Williamson, a highly experienced former Foreign Service Officer who served six U.S. Presidents over the course of a long, far-flung career, eventually achieving the rank of Career Minister. Throughout the 1990's and early 2000's, she held important positions within the U.S. Departments of Energy, Commerce, State, and Defense. (She remains a member of Georgetown University's MSFS oral boards, and a board member of the American Foreign Service Association as well as the American Academy of Diplomacy.) Williamson now speaks extensively on energy, economic, and demographic factors affecting foreign policy formulation, U.S.-Middle East relations, the Israel-Palestine conflict, Iran and its nuclear challenges, and the interagency process. Earlier this week, she gave an address to the Tulsa Committee on Foreign Relations entitled "The Geopolitics of Oil" --- and she joins us today for an interesting discussion of the same. (You can learn more about her recent appearance in Tulsa, and about her vast and award-winning career, at this link.)
