Altan On Mountain Stage

Altan.

Mountain Stage
Altan.

The Irish band Altan appears on Mountain Stage, recorded live at West Virginia's Culture Center Theater. Having made music together for almost three decades, Altan is revered as one of Ireland's most musically accomplished and exciting Celtic groups. Residing in the elusive space between purist devotion and modernist innovation, Altan fuels its electrifying jigs and reels with superb playing and precise arrangements.

The first Irish band of its kind to be signed by a major label, Altan has spent many years touring the world. Its latest album is The Widening Gyre. Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh sings lead and plays fiddle here, along with Ciaran Tourish and Daithi Sproule.
