Oklahoma City, OK – Pruitt beats Leonard in attorney general primary

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Former state Sen. Scott Pruitt has won the Republican nomination for Oklahoma attorney general.

Pruitt, of Broken Arrow, defeated Ryan Leonard of Oklahoma City in Tuesday's primary.

Pruitt will face Democrat Jim Priest of Oklahoma City in the Nov. 2 general election. Priest was unopposed for his party's nomination.

They are vying to replace Democratic Attorney General Drew Edmondson.

Pruitt, who served eight years in the state Senate, ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination for lieutenant governor in 2006.
