AG: Tulsa Woman Illegally Got Disability Benefits

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Attorney General Scott Pruitt's office has charged a Tulsa woman with workers' compensation fraud after she illegally obtained nearly $10,000 in disability benefits.

Carolin Reinschmiedt was arrested December 7th on separate charges during a traffic stop. Her first name is spelled as Carolyn in some court records.

Court documents do not list an attorney for her.

The fraud charge was filed in August — but Pruitt says he doesn't publicize charges until an arrest is made.

Reinschmiedt allegedly submitted a claim in 2010 saying she injured her left shoulder, back and neck and complained of severe pain.

Investigators say surveillance video shows the woman shopping, getting in a car and lifting and carrying objects with no visible signs of discomfort.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 10th.
