HUGO, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say two people are dead following a three-vehicle collision in Choctaw County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the collision occurred on Friday night along U.S. 271 five miles west of Hugo. Troopers identified the dead as 32-year-old Frances Chancellor of Hugo and 45-year-old Angie Thurman of Soper. Two other people, including a 14-year-old girl, were injured in the collision.

Troopers say the collision occurred at 7:19 p.m. when a southbound pickup truck slowed to make a left turn onto a county road. The patrol says a southbound vehicle behind it that was driven by Chancellor struck the rear of the pickup while attempting to pass it, then collided head-on with a northbound vehicle driven by Thurman.

Troopers say the occupants of each of the vehicles were wearing seat belts.
