North Side Hit and Run

Tulsa, OK – A hit & run collision occuned in Tulsa county on Friday night at approximately 10:00 PM' The
location was 56th St. N & Peoria. A 13 year old Tulsa boy was hit while riding his bicycle near the
area. The suspect vehicle, a burgundy 2003-2007 Dodge Stratus like the vehicle seen above, left the
area traveling south bound without stopping.

The victim was transported to a Tulsa hospital and treated for a broken right arm. The suspect
vehicle maybe missing the passenger side mirror.

Conburn Takes Part in Confirmation Hearings

Washington, D.C. – WASHINGTON (AP) The Senate Judiciary Committee has gaveled to order historic Supreme Court hearings for Elana Kagan, a Clinton era legal adviser who is the second woman President Barack Obama has put forward for a seat on the bench.

The leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee are urging Kagan to be open with lawmakers and the American people scrutinizing her qualifications for the high court bench.

Man Killed on Roadway

Tulsa, OK –
A dark section of expressway may have contributed to a Tulsa death. It happened when a car stalled on the inner-dispersal loop downtown, late Sunday night.

The driver of the stalled car was pushing it in the darkness when he was struck by another vehicle. Police say it is doubtful the driver could see the stalled car until it was too late.

Tulsa, OK – WASHINGTON (AP) Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma is among those on the Judiciary Committee who will be asking questions as confirmation hearings start today for Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan. The 62-year-old Republican says he is concerned with Kagan's focus on international law during her career, from Harvard to the solicitor general's office, and whether she plans to use foreign law if she is confirmed.

Grand Jury Indictments

Tulsa, OK – A Tulsa County grand jury issues two sealed indictments and a report critical of the Skiatook School district's current top manager.

The indictments issued by the panel will remain sealed until defendants named in them are arrested.

The judge said the grand jury also recommended the removal of one or more public officials in a separate report also filed under seal.
The report said members of the grand jury have "no confidence in the ability" of interim superintendent to lead the district.

Weekend Drownings

Tulsa, OK – Authorities say 2 drowned in Okla. lakes Saturday

Oklahoma authorities say the bodies of two men who drowned in separate lakes Saturday were recovered within hours of their deaths.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a man drowned about 8 p.m. at Tee Pee Beach on Lake Murray, south of Ardmore. An OHP report said the body of Monserrat Soto Gallardo, 67, of Chihuahua, Mexico, was recovered about 10:30 p.m. by a dive team in about 12 feet of water.
