OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Republican gubernatorial candidate Mary Fallin raised more money than any other candidate during the first three months of this year.

Friday is the deadline for Fallin, a member of Congress from Oklahoma City, and the other candidates for governor to report campaign fundraising and spending activity for the first quarter of 2010.

Norman, OK – Scientists to hit the road for tornado research

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) More than 100 scientists, students and others interested in the causes of severe weather are preparing to go in search of tornadoes.

They're part of the Verification of the Origins of Rotation in Tornadoes Experiment that begins Saturday and runs through June 15. The goal is to learn more about how, when and why tornadoes form.

Oklahoma City, OK – CEOs: Gulf oil spill 'a real setback' for industry

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The CEOs of two Oklahoma City-based independent energy companies say the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico will significantly set back industry efforts to increase offshore drilling.

Devon Energy Corp. CEO Larry Nichols and Chesapeake Energy Corp. CEO Aubrey McClendon spoke Friday morning at an energy conference in Oklahoma City.

Muskogee Mall Shooting Update

Muskogee, OK – Hearing set for man accused in Okla. mall shooting

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) A Muskogee County judge has scheduled an Aug. 2 preliminary hearing for a man accused of fatally shooting a teenager at a Muskogee mall.

Prosecutors have charged 19-year-old Dondray Fowler with first-degree murder in the April 10 killing of 17-year-old Jerrod Reed at Arrowhead Mall.

Attorney L. Wayne Woodyard was appointed to represent Fowler. Attempts to reach Woodyard for comment Thursday weren't successful.

The Bartlett Budget

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett presents his budget to the Tulsa City Council. The spending proposal has the city spending $230-million from the general fund. That is about one million dollars less than last year.

The plan does not for calling back laid-off police officers. However, those officers could be added back once older officers retire.

School District Statement

Tulsa, Ok – Tulsa Public Schools is aware of a police investigation involving a TPS employee at Skelly Elementary School. District administrators and other staff have been fully cooperative with Tulsa police in that ongoing investigation. TPS will continue to cooperate in the investigation as required and allowed by law.
