Tulsa notifies NCAA, launches probe into AD

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gambling-related allegations against the University of Tulsa's athletic director have drawn the attention of the NCAA, which has taken a hard stand against wagering.

Officials at the private university said Wednesday they notified the NCAA immediately after learning of the allegations against Director of Athletics Ross Parmley on Tuesday.

University of Tulsa spokeswoman Kayla Acebo says the school also has launched an investigation into the matter. She declined to elaborate.

TU Only Oklahoma School On Best College List

U.S. News & World Report's 2013 edition of Best Colleges has named The University of Tulsa as the 83rd best national research university.

This marks the 10th consecutive year that TU has been listed in the top 100 national universities --- TU is the only Oklahoma university to be included in the top 100. The publication's 2013 rankings, released on Sept. 12th, also show TU at 48th among the nation’s private doctoral universities.

TU Law School Cracks Top 100

– For the first time in its history, The University of Tulsa College of Law has been named in the top 100 law schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report 2013 Best Graduate Schools rankings.

As one of the smallest law schools in the country, TU Law has advanced 48 places in the last three years in the rankings, which are based on several factors, including an overall quality assessment, reputation, selectivity of student applications, job placement success and faculty resources.
