Hear and Watch Garrison Keillor and Company in a Special Cinecast Show in Tulsa

Public Radio Tulsa – On Thursday, Oct 21 at 7:00 pm you can attend A Prairie Home Companion in a very special HD broadcast on the big screen at a movie theater near you. Since the last Cinecast was such a huge success, we thought we would do it again! The show will once again be beamed live from the stage of the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Public Radio Tulsa – KWGS & KWTU Are Broadcasting at Normal Power

Public Radio 89.5 KWGS and and Classical 88.7 KWTU are back on-air at normal power from our new antenna. All six HD Radio channels are broadcasting normally, as well. Overlooked and Underpaid: Arab Youth in Today's Economy

Public Radio 89.5 HD1 – Nearly a quarter of Arabs under 30 are jobless. Long gone are the days of a guaranteed government gig, and the private sector is far from filling the gap. Today, Arab youth are searching for work and waiting for weddings. Some just want to leave the region - and its long unemployment lines - altogether. At best, unemployment and flagging Arab economies lead to a generation of bored and frustrated youth. At worst, economic conditions create a breeding ground for extremism and instability.

Public Radio 89.5 HD1 – In 2009, you partnered with us to begin our local news initiative. In August 2009, we started Tulsa based newscasts during KWGS' popular "Morning Edition". The newscasts joined a daily, in depth, news segment at 7:35AM that focused on local and state issues.

Public Radio 89.5 HD1 – For nearly two decades, KAKC AM 970, was Tulsa's top-rated radio station. From the mid 50s to the mid 70s, KAKC ruled the teen and young adult audience, dominating the local radio scene like no other station has before or since.

It was a time of cruising Tulsa's restless ribbon and Pennington's Restaurant; dance crazes and hula hoops; Seeing the USA in your Chevrolet; the 60's counterculture and Vietnam war protests. Through it all, Rock and Roll was our music and KAKC was the soundtrack of our youth!
