TULSA, Okla. (AP) A Bartlesville woman charged with neglect in the death of her 10-day-old daughter in a washing machine was investigated six times by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services which found no abuse or neglect of her older children despite findings of drug use.

Stillwater, OK – Hearing ends for Okla. mayor facing computer charge

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) A Payne County judge says he will rule next month whether Stillwater Nathan Bates will be ordered to stand trial on a charge of violating Oklahoma's Computer Crimes Act.

Special Judge Phillip Corley heard about three hours of testimony Tuesday during a preliminary hearing for Bates. Corley said he will issue a ruling on Dec. 20.

Wildfires Cause Damage

McLoud, OK – Grass fires burn near McLoud, in Oklahoma City

McLOUD, Okla. (AP) Fire crews have contained a large grass fire in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area that destroyed a mobile home.

McLoud Fire Chief James Nelson says firefighters continued to "babysit" the blaze late Monday, which erupted east of Oklahoma City in Pottawatomie County.

There were no reports of injuries in that fire or another large blaze that scorched about 30 acres east of downtown Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City, OK – Okla. Gov.-elect to retain transportation secretary

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Gov.-elect Mary Fallin is retaining Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley.

In a news release issued Monday, Fallin also said Ridley will continue as director of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.

Fallin says she worked with Ridley while she was serving as lieutenant governor and as a congresswoman, and can attest to his expertise and dedication.

Oklahoma City, OK – Golf course security guard arrested for peeping

NICHOLS HILLS, Okla. (AP) A security guard at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club has been arrested on a peeping tom complaint after police say they were told he was caught looking into a women's bathroom and dressing area at the club.

A Nichols Hills police report says 26-year-old Brian Keith Beattie was arrested at the club in the Oklahoma City suburb about 11 p.m. Saturday. Beattie told officers he was looking for a valet worker.

Embezzlement Allegation Names Teacher

Jay, OK – Former teacher in Grove charged with embezzlement

JAY, Okla. (AP) A former high school English teacher and cheerleading adviser in the Grove school district has been charged with embezzling money from the district's cheerleading fund.

Court documents show 53-year-old Michell Diane Martin is accused of taking $8,270 from the fund.

Her attorney declined comment on the charge.

Martin worked for the Grove district in 2001 and again from 2005 until she resigned Oct. 26.
