Miami, OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol to remove SUV from river
MIAMI, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says it will begin removing a sport utility vehicle from the icy waters of the Spring River.
The SUV slid off the Will Rogers Turnpike early Thursday, resulting in three deaths and five injuries.
Troopers would like to begin removing the vehicle on Saturday or Sunday, weather and road conditions permitting.
Officials say the plan is to use a crane to lift the vehicle up the river embankment and close one lane of traffic while the recovery is being made.
