World Traveling Violin with Cyrus Beroukhim on Performance Oklahoma

Oklahoma City’s resident chamber music ensemble, the Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble, aims to add dimension and richness to life for residents of the city and central Oklahoma. Programming goals include not only offering popular and beloved chamber music works but also adding larger and more complex, diverse and lesser known pieces, and newly commissioned repertoire to each performance season. Now in its 12th season, the Brightmusic Society of Oklahoma offers five regular concerts in duo venues and a four concert Spring chamber music festival in June.

Guest violinist Cyrus Beroukhim, an internationally recognized soloist, recitalist, chamber and orchestral musician, joined the Society for their third series of concerts this season offered in duo venues on Monday, January 12th at All Soul’s Episcopal Church and on Tuesday January 13th, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral. The program, entitled World Traveling Violin features Mozart’s Trio for Piano and Strings K 502, the Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano of Aram Khachaturian, Tibetan Dance by Bright Sheng, the Sonata No 1 for Violin and Piano by Maurice Ravel and Paul Schoenfield’s Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano. Joining Mr. Beroukhim for these performances are Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble cellist Jonathan Ruck, clarinetist Chad Burrow and pianist Amy I-Lin Cheng.

Performance Oklahoma is heard each week on Saturday evening at 8pm on Classical 88.7-1!
