Sherwood Construction

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City police say a worker who was killed at a construction site near downtown has been identified.

Captain Dexter Nelson says that 43-year-old Mario Mejia-Ramirez died after being pinned between a truck trailer and a piece of excavation equipment.

Mejia-Ramirez worked for Sherwood Construction Company, which is based in Tulsa and Wichita, Kansas.

Nelson says he died Thursday afternoon while dismantling the old Interstate 40 Crosstown behind Harkins Theatre in Bricktown.

Investigators with Occupational Safety and Health Administration are looking into the incident.
