FORT GIBSON, Okla. (AP) — A Fort Gibson woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 2-week-old daughter.

Prosecutors accuse 21-year-old Christina Marie Hall of smothering her daughter Summer while sleeping in the same bed with the girl. She was charged with second-degree murder.

According to court records, investigators believe the baby's death was caused by Hall's negligence.

The Muskogee Phoenix reports that Hall pleaded not guilty to the charge during a hearing Thursday in Wagoner County District Court.

Hall is due back in court July 31.
