Winter Arrives This Weekend

By AP

Oklahoma City, OK –
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (AP) Road crews in Oklahoma City are preparing for possible snow and ice predicted for the state this weekend.

The city says that crews are pre-treating bridges and overpasses Friday with salt brine solution in preparation for the bad weather.

The National Weather Service says there's a chance of snow and rain on Saturday and Sunday, and that another storm front moving into the state Monday night is likely to bring snow across northern Oklahoma. Blowing or drifting snow is possible north of the Interstate 40 corridor.

Forecasters say the coldest temperatures of the season so far are predicted for next week, with wind chills that could drop below zero.
