West Nile virus in Tulsa

By KWGS

Tulsa, OK – West Nile virus is found in mosquitoes tested in Tulsa. Only a fraction of the usual number of mosquito spraying requests have been received at the Tulsa County Health Department this summer because of the heat. But John Baker with the Department says a batch tested last night was positive

The location, which will be sprayed, is from 61st to 71st between Sheridan and Memorial.

Baker says the southern house mosquito which carries West Nile likes the extremely hot weather where other varieties don't like it really hot.
