The fall web worms are bad this year, maybe the worst in several years. But don’t worry, it’s not likely they’ll kill your trees. Director of Horticulture at the Tulsa Garden Center, Barry Fugatt, has seen a lot of web worm infestations over the years, but few have been as bad as this year’s.
The wet spring and summer might be the reason, but Fugatt says experts don’t all agree. He says don’t worry, although ugly looking draped on your trees, it’s not likely the worms will kill them.
Fugatt doesn’t recommend spraying at this point in the year.
