Vote for The Little Light House

By Catherine Roberts

Tulsa, Okla. – Tulsa's special needs school The Little Light House is in the final stretch toward winning a half-million dollar prize, and it needs your help.

If it receives enough votes on Facebook in a Kohls Cares sweepstakes to be in the top 20 of over 60,000 competing schools, it qualifies for the $500,000 donation from Kohls.

Julie Lipe, Little Light House Director of Educational Services, says the award would be hugely beneficial for the school, which does not charge tuition and does not receive government or United Way funding.

"Specifically we're looking to get some new technology in the classrooms," she said. "Technology is a big thing for a lot of our students, we serve children with autism. It's really an important aspect of their learning, is to be able to have communication through technology."

The Little Light House is currently 29th on the Kohls Cares leader board.

To vote, visit the Kohls Cares Facebook page and allow the application. The site will prompt you to "Like" Kohls before you can cast 20 votes, with five votes allowed for a single school.
