Norman, Okla. – NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Some University of Oklahoma students are upset that officials waited two weeks to tell them of a virus found on a computer containing student information.
The OU information technology department found the Zeus of Zbod virus June 10 on an OU laptop computer with stored files of student names and Social Security numbers.
Architecture student Kelsey Krueger says she learned of the virus June 24 when the bursar's officer sent her and other students a message about the incident. Krueger says she doesn't blame OU for the virus but wants to know why officials waited two weeks to notify her and other students.
OU spokeswoman Catherine Bishop says there is no known theft or misuse of information because of the virus.
