Veterans Center

Tulsa, OK – To better support student-veterans, The University of Tulsa is proud to announce the opening of the Albert E. Schwab Veterans Resource Lounge. The center provides a central place for veterans to meet and study, as well as consolidates veterans services on campus.

An increased number of military members are returning from deployment and are taking advantage of the Yellow Ribbon Program at TU, which provides 100 percent tuition to qualified veterans. TU has expanded its veterans services to welcome them to campus.

The center is named after Private First Class Albert E. Schwab, who attended TU before serving in the Marine Corps. He is Tulsa's only Medal of Honor recipient, and posthumously received the military's highest honor for single-handedly taking out two strategic Japanese gun positions at the Battle of Okinawa.

Starting this fall semester, the lounge will be open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Albert E. Schwab Veterans Resource Lounge offers:

fully furnished lounge with flat screen TV
study area
coffee-making facilities
refreshments/snacks donated by the Blue Star Mothers
information/brochures on veteran benefits and resources
