Twos and Fours Aplenty: On the Next All This Jazz, Some Stellar Duets and Quartets

Please tune in for the next installment of All This Jazz, beginning at 10pm Central on Saturday the 3rd, right here on Public Radio 89.5-1. (We'll also air, as always, a re-broadcast of our show on Sunday the 4th at 7pm on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

Every week, All This Jazz delivers modern jazz, both recent and classic, right up till midnight. We also offer a "theme" in the second hour of each program.

This time around, that theme will be Duets & Quartets --- and thus we'll hear terrific "dynamic duo" recordings from the likes of Nico Gori & Fred Hersch and Max Roach & Dizzy Gillespie, as well as downright nifty quartet dates led by Dexter Gordon, Lew Tabackin, Bill Frisell (shown here), and others.

Join us, fellow jazz freaks!

(Oh, and as a reminder: The 2013 Newport Jazz Festival is happening this weekend, on both the 3rd and 4th, and now, through the good graces of our friends at NPR Music, you can listen to a free live stream of much of the festival. Just boost up that volume setting --- and go here. Cheers.)

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
