Tulsa, Oklahoma – On today's edition of StudioTulsa, we're talking about a new adaptation of "The Trojan Women," the classic Greek tragedy by Euripides, which is being presented by Choregus Productions and the Odeum Theatre Company through May 30th at the Doenges Theatre in the Tulsa PAC. (The play opened last night.) Our guests are actors David Lawrence and Annie Ellicott, who respectively play Poseidon and Helen in the drama. Later in the program, we hear from Ken Tracy, who created this adaptation. As Tracy tells our host Rich Fisher, he sought to update the script to include contemporary events (and modern music) while also emphasizing the brutality of war on civilian populations. Directed by Erin Scarberry, this play employs a cast of more than 30 actors and musicians to portray the fate of the women of Troy at the conclusion of the Trojan War.
