Tulsa's green-waste site busy after Christmas

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Christmas trees and storm debris are piling up at Tulsa's green-waste mulching site, and city officials are encouraging residents to bring more.

Roy Teeters is Tulsa's city streets and storm water division manager. He says Tulsa residents can drop off their storm debris at 10401 East 56th St. North from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. The Tulsa World reports the site will be closed on New Year's Day.

The site accepts Christmas trees and storm debris, but Teeters says Christmas trees have to be stripped of all ornaments, tinsel and lights when residents drop them off.

Residents can also pick up free mulch and firewood at the site.
