Tulsa's Family Safety Center Dedicates a New Wing

KWGS News

A new safety center to help survivors of domestic and family violence is open in downtown Tulsa. One section of the 11,000 square foot Family Safety Center is dedicated today to the late Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Charles Head. The tribe paid for the Charles L. Head One Fire Wing. Chief Bill John Baker was on hand for the dedication. He says Head was passionate about the battle against domestic and family violence, and worked tirelessly to help victims.

The new Safety Center, which opened this week, provides a range of services to help victims of domestic abuse in Northeastern Oklahoma.
