An estimated 80,000 people crowded along the banks of the Arkansas River to watch the annual fire works display. The display came off without a hitch to the delight to the crowd. The event was mostly peaceful.

One person did have to be rescued from the Arkansas River near the low water dam, south of the fireworks display. He was rescued from the water just before dusk.

Other displays were held in Jenks, Cedar Ridge Country Club and at Grand and Skiatook Lake.
