The Tulsa Symphony Turns "Orange" with Dylana Jenson and David Lockington
On this installment on ST, we are pleased to welcome the classical-music husband-and-wife team of violinist Dylana Jenson and conductor-cellist David Lockington. Both will appear as special guests tomorrow night (Saturday the 6th) at the Tulsa PAC's Chapman Music Hall at 7:30pm, which is where and when the Tulsa Symphony will present its final "classics concert" of the current season; Jenson will be the Guest Soloist and Lockington, the Guest Conductor. The color-centric theme for this concert will be "Orange" --- and the program will feature music by Barber (The School for Scandal), Shostakovich (Violin Concerto No. 1), and Beethoven (Symphony No. 7). The evening is sure to offer music of energy, mystery, joy, and drama --- orange music, if you will. Among other subjects, Jenson and Lockington talk with us about the rare occasions when they get to perform together and their respective thoughts and feelings about the music on tomorrow night's program.
