At least 5 injured when Tulsa school bus rolls off highway

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Medical officials say at least four students and one adult were injured when a Tulsa school bus rolled off a highway and into a ditch.

Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman Kelli Bruer says the children and adult were taken to area hospitals Wednesday with non-life threatening injuries. Bruer says it is not clear if the adult was the bus driver.

It was also unclear how many students were on board the Tulsa Public Schools bus when it rolled over on southbound U.S. 75.

School district spokesman Chris Payne estimates between seven to 10 students may have been aboard. Payne says the bus was taking students home from Project Accept, an alternative elementary school.

Tulsa Police Sgt. Shane Tuell didn't immediately have details on what caused the crash.
