Tulsa Regional Chamber to Host Education Funding Forum

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa's Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a forum this week that looks to address the future funding needs of Oklahoma public schools.

The informal panel discussion is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the chamber's downtown Tulsa offices.

Speakers will include Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Keith Ballard, state lawmaker Fred Jordan and Brian Hunt, executive director of Stand for Children Oklahoma, an education advocacy group.

Ballard will go over the state budget for the coming year and discuss what he hopes to see in additional education funding.

Rep. Jordan, R-Jenks, will then update attendees on Oklahoma's income tax and education funding.
