Tulsa Public Schools Narrows Superintendent Search

Tulsa Public Schools

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Just four candidates are left in the search for a new superintendent for Tulsa Public Schools.

The Tulsa School Board has asked four of the first eight candidates it interviewed to be interviewed a second time in the search for the next superintendent.

The Tulsa World reports that the board is searching for a successor for Superintendent Keith Ballard, who has said he will retire on June 30th.

The board conducted private interviews with eight of about 25 applicants. None of the applicants have been identified.

In a statement, school board members say they eagerly await follow-up interviews as they continue to narrow the field. Board members say they intend to announce a final selection by the end of January or in early February.
