TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Tulsa Police Department has been awarded $1.25 million federal grant.

The grant is from the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services — or COPS — program.

Police say the grant provides for the hiring of 10 additional police officers and to focus on violent crime.
